Go local at an amazing Dim Sum place!
Hk.salad decided to go local and try out a dim sum place. In the heart of Sheung Wan, Dim Sum Square clearly delivers a great culinary experience. The place is easy to locate and tends to be a bit crowded as people queue outside for a table. Do not be frightened, even if the line seems long it takes no more than 15 minutes to get in.
The restaurant is well decorated, with tiny chairs and low tables providing a true Hong Kong style experience. The menu is a small sheet of paper with the listing of all dishes available where the whole table writes down the number of servings they desire. We would recommend an average of 3, maximum 4 dishes per person depending on how hungry you are.
The service is efficient and not long after the order is placed will steamy dim sum, dumplings, buns, rice pots start to pile up. Having ordered 25 plates, it would be too extensive to mention them all. However, the shrimp crystal dumplings are delicious and steamed to perfection. Moreover, the buns are soft and tender. Also, the spring rolls are also crusty and savory. The standard of the restaurant is high so do not be scared to try out new dishes as it will most definitely be good! The prices are extremely reasonable starting at 10HK for a dish.
This restaurant is a place to enjoy a great lunch or dinner with friends as the food is in the middle of the table and can easily be shared. Please give it a go. We did it and we do not regret it. This restaurant provides quality traditional food as well as impeccable service.
