Careful this might be the best pizza in Hong Kong !
Jacomax is definitely the type of restaurant that reminds you how much you have missed freshly made Italian food. In Sheung Wan, two minutes away from the MTR , the restaurant bakes large pizzas full of flavours. The place was created in 2010 by two Italians: JACOpo and MAXy (=JACOMAX) giving it its authenticity.
If you are craving for some real Italian, or just feel like trying out a new great restaurant, please go to Jacomax, you will not regret it (we haven’t). For lunch, hk.salad decided to go with the Jacomax’s set lunch express, including salad (well-seasoned), grilled sausages and two pizzas: T-Rex and Crudo. The pizzas are prepared to order, and baked within 10 minutes, served warm from the pizza oven. The first one was a perfect combination of ham, sausages and spicy salame. Its thin crust gave the pizza the crunchy and soft feeling we all love. The second one was a fresh taste for the mouth with rocket and Parma ham. What is truly great is the tomato sauce that we believe makes the difference between Jacomax and other pizza places you could find in Hong Kong. It is honestly worth the try.
The restaurant itself was colourful and pleasant. The Italian atmosphere was a bit lost by the American music playing but the efficient and kind staff makes it an agreeable moment. If Sheung Wan, is a bit far for you, they always have two other locations in Quarry Bay and Wan Chai. And if pizza is not your favourite Italian food, they also do all sorts of pasta (seriously they have an extensive list) There’re no excuses not to go !!
Here at HK salad we had a great time and strongly recommend it! It might seem pricy at first, but remember that the pizzas are generous and can easily be shared!
